The 6th North West StreetGames Festival of sport will take place at Sportcity Manchester on Friday 21st August (Main event) and Friday 28th August (Futsal).

25 teams from 29 StreetGames projects across the North West will be taking part in 16 sports giving up to 1,500 young people who currently do not have the opportunity to take part in sport the opportunity to participate in a major Sporting Event. Partners involved in delivering the event include national governing bodies of sport, professional football and rugby league clubs, local clubs, other social inclusion projects and providing exit routes and opportunities post event.

The sports for 2009 include Angling, Athletics, Basketball, Cricket, Dodgeball, Futsal, Graffitti Art, Handball, Inline Speed Skating, Rugby League, Skateboarding, StreetCheer, Table Tennis, Tri Golf, Ultimate Frisbee and Urban Orienteering.
